Independence Day 2009
When I think of Independence day, first thing that comes to my mind is a paper flag on my shirt pocket, next decoration and a very big flag to a long decorated flagpole. As alrady said that Indus academies are very low profiled quality school in Bhongir town. On occassion of Independence day we have invited Bhongir Municipal Chairperson Mr. Barre Jahangir, who is first person of the town. Even before chief guest arrived I visited the school and surprised to see 6 feet flagpole nicely decorated, when cheif guest arrived I told that ours is a small school with very small children and so we have small flagpole and a flag. To that Barre Jahagir said that yes it is really small but your work is very big and appreciated our efforts to start the school in that locality. After flag hoisting guests were really surprised when they lsitened to the speech given by Meenakshi on Independece day. The same Meenakshi who used to hate school before coming to Indus Academy.
Indus Academies low cost budget schools are started in nine locations in Andhra Pradesh. These schools provide quality education which is at par with any other national level public schools. The basic objectives of these schools are to replicate the best Teaching and Learning practices to every corner of the nation and especially for the communities that fall in Bottom of Pyramid category.
Though the schools started in a very low profile way, but established strong relationships in the community through its community outreach activities like conducting health camps in the community and doing tree plantations in various government and private institutions.
Indus Academies view education as enabler and change agent for entire community. These academies are created to be as a hub for community development.
